[Switzerland – Montenegro] Join us on a 3 day hike through the rocky landscapes of the South of France. If you're looking to escape civilisation, be in a warmer climate yet close to Switzerland, the Baronnies are the place. And bonus if you're there from spring to late summer: you'll see endless lavender fields.
Day 1
After a short hike the evening before to find an appropriate spot to pitch our tent, we set off in the morning from Buis-les-Baronnies. We walked up a steep hill right at the start, then arrived on a plateau which we walked over for the rest of the day.
Even though February in Provence is cold, the smell of pine forests reminded me of warmer months.
Vegetation was already starting to bloom, and as we didn't meet anyone for the whole day, it was a perfect way for me to disconnect.
Day 2
After a copious breakfast, we ventured deeper into the natural park.
We passed a blue river that was still bordered by snow and ended up crossing a forest for most of the remainder of the day.
When we saw a nice camping spot with a view and a fireplace around 4 in the afternoon, we decided to chill in our camping chairs in the sun for the rest of the day.
